Visual Rechearch Projects
Our work is our purpose, our driving force. It's the reason we get up every day and do what we do. Most importantly, it keeps pushing us to achieve bigger and better things with each new challenge.
An overview
Bibliothèque d'un Amateur is a research project exploring literature, typography, and asemic writing. This work is centered on an auction catalogue from 1962, detailing the library of a book collector, which serves as the foundation for my investigation.
Writings, calligraphy, and manuscripts have been a continuous source of inspiration in my research. However, personal challenges have deeply shaped my relationship with writing. Following health issues and accidents, I lost the ability to write twice, each time resulting in a dramatic transformation of my handwriting.
Asemic writing is an art form of abstract marks that resemble script but carry no specific meaning. It invites free interpretation, focusing on the visual and emotional essence of writing beyond language.
My technique combines monotypes and drawings, blending the spontaneity of printmaking with the precision of hand-drawn elements. The monotypes provide a foundation of textures and organic forms, while the drawings add detail and intentionality, creating a dialogue between chance and control. This approach allows me to explore layers of meaning and visual depth, reflecting the themes of my research.
_polarity_duality_
This visual research project explores the concepts _polarity_duality_ through the use of two symbols, initially discovered and placed in various contexts. As the project unfolded, these two symbols naturally evolved into a set of five, shaped by their interactions with one another.
